MedGrocer: Redefining Healthcare Convenience
MedGrocer isn’t just a pharmacy—it’s a lifeline for users seeking convenient access to medicines, clinic management services, and patient support programs. Whether managing prescriptions, booking appointments, or navigating healthcare challenges, MedGrocer bridges the gap between modern technology and compassionate care.

As part of my apprenticeship, I had the privilege of contributing to this transformative platform. Alongside seasoned mentors, I worked to refine its user interface and optimize the user experience, tailoring it to the unique needs of users
The Challenge: Healthcare Feels Overwhelming
Navigating healthcare can be daunting—juggling prescriptions, managing appointments, and ensuring reliable access to medicine. MedGrocer’s creators saw an opportunity to make healthcare simpler, more accessible, and more human.

The challenge?
How do we design a platform that feels intuitive for both tech-savvy users and those less familiar with technology?
How do we build trust in online healthcare services, ensuring users feel secure and supported?
How do we simplify complex healthcare workflows while catering to diverse user needs?

These questions shaped every step of the design journey.
Designing for Real People
Through research, we identified Luz and Jom—two personas who encapsulated MedGrocer’s core users.

Meet Luz
Luz, 51, is a devoted housewife who manages her family’s health. She struggles with keeping track of prescriptions and appointments while juggling her daily responsibilities. For Luz, MedGrocer isn’t just a convenience; it’s a way to save time and ensure her family’s well-being.

Meet Jom
Jom, 24, is a software engineer working long hours. He wants affordable, personalized healthcare that fits into his busy schedule. MedGrocer offers him an alternative to in-person visits, but it also needs to earn his trust with a reliable and user-friendly platform.

Luz and Jom became the heart of our design decisions. Their needs, goals, and pain points guided every wireframe, prototype, and interaction flow.
Thoughtful Design Choices
The MedGrocer logotype is a modern and clean wordmark that is easily applicable in all areas and features a modern wordmark. It also features an “M” icon that fits seamlessly into app and branding applications, symbolizing innovation in the medical field.

Font Family: Titles use Kanit Bold, a modern and symmetrical typeface reflecting MedGrocer’s forward-thinking ethos. Paragraphs use DM Sans Regular, ensuring high readability and a clean, professional tone.

Colors: Very dark cyan color and the rest of the colors in this pallette is the same colors used in business’ existing website.
Crafting Clarity
Initial sketches focused on decluttering workflows, ensuring users could easily navigate features like prescription management, appointment booking, and patient support services.

I worked on both low-fidelity wireframes to map out user flows and high-fidelity prototypes to bring MedGrocer’s vision to life, ensuring the design was both functional and visually appealing.
What I Learned Along the Way
This project underscored the importance of empathy in healthcare design. Crafting a platform that balances functionality with trust required deep user insights and iterative refinement. If I were to revisit this project, I’d explore integrating AI-driven personalization to anticipate user needs even further.

This project wasn’t just about enhancing a platform—it was about bridging the gap between technology and trust. MedGrocer now offers users like Luz and Jom the convenience, reliability, and personalized care they need, proving that healthcare can be simple, accessible, and empowering.
